Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

A personal message from Ern Phang, notary public

For all of my clients in Australia and around the world, to my regular readers and first time visitors, I wish you all Merry Christmas 2012 and Happy New Year 2013. My office is currently closed for the holiday season and I have suspended all notary public services during this time. Notary public services will recommence on 14 January 2013. But while I’m away, I wanted to take this opportunity to share some thoughts with you – so thank you for your attention.

For me, the Christmas and the New Year period every year is a time to reflect over the past year and a time to plan for the year ahead. My team and I generally take time during January or February to review strategic and business plans so that there’s a common understanding of who we are, what we do and why we’re doing it. Between my team and I, we cover a few core areas of law – one of those being, notary public services.

As always, I remain committed to being one of the leading providers of notary public services in Sydney. But what does this actually mean?

To me, being one of the leading providers of notary public services in Sydney means THREE key things. I’m sure there are more, but for now I will focus on these only.

  • Readily available with convenient appointment times. I’ve heard from clients that it’s quite difficult to find a notary public in Sydney, and it’s even more difficult to make an appointment when they want especially on short notice – which is often the case with notary public services and requests for documents from overseas. But that’s where I’m different. I try to make myself readily available to provide notary public services on short notice and try to accommodate different requests from clients. I believe that providing a service means I provide you with solutions to achieve your goals. Sometimes this might mean visiting you at home or in the office, making appointments on short notice or after hours, providing additional services such as authentication, apostille or legalisation through the foreign consulates and embassies, or just simply giving you the right advice and quoting you the right price. It’s actually a very simple approach, and my happy clients means I must be doing something right.
  • Confidence based on extensive experience. Becoming a notary public doesn’t happen over night. It takes years, if not decades. I might not be as experienced in terms of years compared to more senior notaries, however notary public services is the major part of my practice, and there are times when I might assist more clients in just one day than some notaries might assist in a week, a month or even longer. The benefit of assisting many clients is that I see the same kind situation and the same kind of of documents all the time. My experience means I can provide confident advice about what needs to be done and what will likely happen next. It also means I can provide accurate estimates for turn around and processing times and additional costs. For you, my experience means peace of mind and my confidence becomes your confidence.
  • Competitively and reasonably priced. My notary fees may not always be the cheapest – anyone can be cheap. My goal is to provide you with confident advice, efficient services and a competitive quote. I want to win your repeat business on value, and this is a different proposition to just being cheap. I believe that fitting in with your schedule, not making you wait, understanding your requirements and providing you with the right advice is what it means to be providing the right service – and it is so much more than just a price. I stand behind my quotes and I stand behind my work. My notary public services focuses on providing you with peace of mind and after being a notary public for more than half a decade, my growing database of repeat and referred clients is a testimony to my work.
