The major part of our notary public services is about notarising documents, however it is not the only part. In addition to notarising your documents, we can also help you with the following other services depending on your specific requirements:

  • We can arrange for an apostille or authentication through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) after we have notarised your documents. Depending on where you will be sending your notarised documents and who will be receiving those documents, you may also need to have your notarised documents stamped with an apostille or authenticated by DFAT. This step is necessary after notarisation if the recipient of your documents wants to verify that your documents have been properly notarised. Different countries have different ways in which they achieve this – some through apostille, and others by authentication. You can arrange for the apostille or authentication yourself through DFAT or we can arrange it for you. We offer fixed fee services depending on the number of documents.
  • We can arrange for authentication or legalisation through the foreign office of your intended destination country. Once your notarised document has been authenticated by DFAT it may also need to be authenticated or legalised by the foreign office of your intended destination country. This step may be necessary by foreign governments who will recognise and acknowledge the authentication or legalisation of their own foreign office in Australia. However, this step would not apply if your intended destination country recognises an apostille. We offer fixed fee services depending on the number of documents and the intended destination country.
  • We can arrange for your documents to be translated (before or after your documents have been notarised). Generally, if your documents are written in a language other than English and you want to use them in Australia, then those documents will need to be translated into English by a NAATI accredited translator. We have a panel of NAATI accredited translators who can assist you with translating documents into English. However, if you intend to send documents written in English to another country that does not recognise English documents, you may need to have those documents translated into the official language of the intended destination country. In the same way that documents used in Australia must be translated by a NAATI accredited translator, documents used in other countries should be translated by translators who are accredited in those countries. Accordingly, if your documents must be translated, we recommend translating your documents in the intended destination country after they have been notarised and stamped with an apostille/authenticated, not before.
  • We can arrange for delivery or courier of your notarised documents to your intended destination country. We will arrange for a door-to-door courier service through DHL or Fedex to ensure that your documents are properly delivered and delivered on time. Unfortunately, post (even registered post) can be unpredictable and insecure, and we have had many clients who have had to notarise their documents a second time simply because they tried posting their documents to the intended destination country only for those documents to be lost in the mail.

We understand that your documents are important and that notarisation is often just a small aspect of what you need to do – but in the context of notarising your documents we can take into account the different factors that may influence what we notarise and how we notarise in order to satisfy the various potential requirements of DFAT, foreign offices or your intended recipient.
