Cancellation of appointments until further notice

No face-to-face appointments due to COVID

Due to the recent announcement of restrictions and stay-at-home orders by the NSW Government, we’ve cancelled all notary public appointments until further notice. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience, especially for those clients who already had made an appointment.

Limited notary public services will continue

Although we’re unable to offer face-to-face appointments for services like witnessing or verifying identification, we can still provide remote services that don’t require clients to physically be present in our office.

For example, we can still verify and certify documents provided the original documents are posted or delivered to us (or if the original documents only exist as digital documents then they can be emailed). To assist with this process, we’re offering pickup and return courier services (which are same-day in some cases) however we appreciate that many clients will want to wait until the restrictions have been lifted due to the additional cost that this attracts.

Despite what you may read on the internet or what other notaries may tell you, notary public services for witnessing documents cannot be provided without a face-to-face appointment. Documents that have been ‘witnessed’ through telephone, video, or any other kind of electronic or virtual methods will not have been properly witnessed and may not be accepted in other countries. The Society of Notaries of New South Wales Inc has already made this position clear to all notary publics in New South Wales, and so be wary of anyone who advises you differently.

We thank you all for your understanding and support during this challenging time. As soon as restrictions have been lifted, we’ll resume taking face-to-face appointments subject to orders and directions from authorities at that time.
