Open to all clients – vaccination no longer a condition of entry
In accordance with changing government restrictions, vaccination is no longer a condition of entry. Face-to-face appointments for notary public services are now available to all clients.
We still strongly recommend to all clients to wear a face mask and to check in with their Service NSW app when they visit our office, but these measures are no longer a requirement or condition of entry. Our team will continue to wear face masks and follow our existing COVID Safe plan and protocols for your health, safety, and peace of mind.
Why must you have a face-to-face appointment?
Face-to-face appointments are sometimes necessary to notarise certain documents. For example, if you need to sign a document and in order for your signature to be witnessed, you must have a face-to-face appointment. When our office was closed, we were unable to provide this service to everyone. After some of the restrictions were lifted but vaccination was a condition of entry, we could only provide this service to people who were fully vaccinated. Now that all restrictions have been lifted, we can now provide this service to everyone regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not.
When can you do things without a face-to-face appointment?
A face-to-face appointment is not always required for notary services. For example, if you need to have a document attested, you only need to provide us with the original document. As long as we are not required to verify the identity, including witness their signature, then we generally can provide these other notary services without a face-to-face appointment since they are document-based rather than person-based.
Why do we strongly recommend wearing a face mask or checking in?
Wearing a face mask or checking in is nothing but a temporary inconvenience. Yet, the benefits can be far-reaching. Our team will be wearing face masks while serving you (and they will be wearing a face mask throughout the day as they meet with others) and we think it is in their best interest (as well as yours) if they do. Even though it might not be absolute protection against the spread of germs, but it is better than just doing nothing. We only encourage (strongly recommend) that you wear a face mask during your appointment, but it is still your decision as to what is most comfortable for you.
Checking in helps alert you (and the government) of any possible infection from you, from other clients, or from us – our team. Having this alert or record is important if contact tracing is required or to notify you if there is a possibility that you were exposed to an infection. Our office keeps track of our clients and your appointments so there are other ways to provide contact tracing information even if you do not check in, however checking in seems to be the easiest way to keep track of these things yourself.
